Plano Solar Panels

SWITCH TO SOLAR AND SAVE!

Solar panels perform best in sunny climates like the one in Plano, TX. The more sunlight the panels receive, the more solar power they produce. Plano gets more sunlight than the national average, making it a good choice for homebuyers who want to go green, and homeowners who want an energy-efficient upgrade. When you want expert solar panel installation for your Plano home or business, call Kosmos Solar! We’re a trusted solar power authority in North Texas, and we are passionate about helping clients convert from fossil fuels to eco-friendly solar energy.

Worried that your roof isn’t suitable for solar panels? Don’t be! Our talented team can configure the solar array to fit most roofs. We know how to accommodate small roofs, low-sloping roofs, damaged roofs, and more. If all else fails, we have ground-mounted solar arrays that produce solar energy just like their roof-mounted counterparts.

Kosmos Solar provides residential and commercial solar panel services in Plano and the greater DFW Metroplex. Wherever you live in Texas, you have the freedom to have a solar array installed on your roof, even if your neighborhood has a strict HOA – and Texas law is on your side! The new Solar Access Law compels HOAs to allow rooftop solar panel installation so their members can have the same access to green energy as everyone else.

About Plano

Plano is a northern suburb of Dallas located in Collin County, with a small portion extending into Denton County. Plano has a population of almost 300,000 people. It has won numerous awards for its safety and livability,  including Forbes’ “Safest City in the Nation” distinction in 2011 and WalletHub’s “Happiest Place to Live in Texas” honor in 2017. It also ranks very highly for the quality of its public schools, the physical fitness of its residents, and its suitability to host corporate headquarters – of which it has dozens. Frito-Lay, Keurig/Dr. Pepper, Cinemark Theaters, Pizza Hut/WingStreet, Toyota Motors of North America, and many others are headquartered in Plano.

It seems that the area has always been fast-growing. When European settlers arrived in the 1840s, they soon erected a sawmill, a gristmill, and a general store that attracted many more people to the area. A mail service was established, and community members decided to call their town “Plano”, Spanish for “flat”, to reflect the local landscape.

Like many cities in the DFW Metroplex, Plano experienced a boom when the Houston and Central Texas Railway came through the area, and again after World War II’s completion. The town’s infrastructure continued to grow, and the population surged in the 1980’s when many corporations set up headquarters in Plano, bringing jobs and workers to the city. By 2000, Plano had surpassed the population of McKinney to become one of the largest suburbs of Dallas.

Today, Plano is known for offering a high quality of life to residents in every age group. Plentiful jobs and an award-winning public school system draw many young families to Plano, but it is also known as a wonderful place to retire.

The Weather in Plano

Plano is a sunny place for most of the year. It has long, hot summers like the rest of North Texas around the DFW Metroplex. March, April, and May tend to bring thunderstorms and severe weather events to the area, but sunny days far outnumber cloudy ones. Solar panels in Plano perform very well.

Averaging 10 – 14 hours of sunlight each day, and 12-13 hours on most days, Plano is a perfect candidate for solar panel installation. If you have a solar panel array installed on your rooftop in Plano, you can expect to get more than enough sunlight to power your home, as well as a higher sale price should you decide to put your house on the market.
